DJI OM4: New Smartphone Gimbal with simple magnetic holder

DJI has just introduced the compact and collapsible smartphone Gimbal OM4 as the successor to the Osmo Mobile 3. The biggest innovation of the OM4 is the magnetic quick release fastener, which allows the phone to be attached to the gimbal extremely quickly.

Apart from the simple 3-axis stabilization of film admissions with the cell phone the Osmo mobile 4 masters a whole set of intelligent film modes for special admissions, then can for example by means of the already from the one-hand Gimbal Ronin-S well-known www.slashcam.de/news/single/DJI--Firmwareupdate-bringt-ActiveTrack-3-0-und-For-15392. html (ActiveTrack 3.0) algorithm, special objects such as adults, children and pets can be recognized and automatically tracked with the camera, or via DynamicZoom a Hitchcockscher dolly zoom effect a la Vertigo, a story mode, a CloneMe panorama with several selfies or a gesture control to trigger the camera for selfies from a distance.
Several special moving time lapse shots are also possible, such as a hyperlapse or a motionlapse. Other special shooting modes are the SpinShot, where the camera is rotated by 180° during shooting, a stabilized slow-motion shot or the 240° or 3x3 panorama, which is composed of several photos from precisely defined angles.

All these intelligent recording modes are made possible by DJIs Mimo App (iOS/Android) on the smartphone, which also offers additional features such as media management, OM4 gimbal settings, a video editor and tutorial clips for better recordings.
The magnetic holder consists of a magnetic phone clamp or a magnetic ring holder which can be fixed to the smartphone - if the phone is to be used with the gimbal, it can be easily and stable placed on the OM4 using these magnets.
Further features are the flashlight mode, which automatically adjusts the position of the cell phone at low camera angles, the quick-roll mode, which allows switching between portrait and landscape format with a single keystroke, the control system optimized for operation with only one hand, and the standby mode, which is automatically triggered when the smartphone is released from the cradle.
