DJI has calculated a razor-sharp weight for the new Mavic Mini drone, and with only 249g it meets the C0 drone class (up to 250g take-off weight). This should allow the new DJI Mavic Mini to be used without a driver&s license or registration requirement at least in Germany from 202o on. ;)
The flight time is given by DJI as 30 minutes - which would be a very good value for this altra-light threat class. The larger DJI Mavic 2 or Phantom 4 Pro drones no longer fly. The camera of the new DJI Mavic Mini has a 1/2.3 inch sensor with which videos in either 2.7K resolution at max. 30fps or 1080p videos with max. 60fps can be recorded. (If you need 4K video, you&ll have to grab the larger Mavic 2 - but you&ll end up in a different drone class with more limitations). ;) The camera of the DJI Mavic Mini is stabilized with a three-axis, motorized gimbal. Flight modes include three pre-programmed, comprehensive modes as well as various "QuickShots". The three basic flight modes of the DJI Mavic Mini include: The position mode (P) serves the simple standard flight, for more experienced pilots the sport mode (S) and for content creators the so-called CineSmooth mode (C) is available. The latter should contain a decelerated deceleration in order to obtain higher quality images. ;) The QuickShots modes contain automated flight programs with corresponding motif tracking and alignment. Here you will find: Rocket The Mavic Mini flies quickly into the air with the camera pointing down and following its subject. You can easily set the altitude limit to 12, 18, 24, 30, or 36 meters. Circles The Mavic Mini orbits its subject at a constant height and distance. Dronie The Mavic Mini flies backwards and upwards at the same time, while the camera remains aligned with the subject. Again, you can easily set the height limit to 12, 18, 24, 30, or 36 meters. Helix The Mavic Mini flies spirally upwards and away from the motif at the same time. The the same height limits as "Rocket" or "Dronie". DJI also offers a number of accessories for the Mavic Mini. ;) These include: 360° propeller protection, an illuminated charging station, propeller holder (for protected transport), mini travel bag, two-way charging station (for max. three Mavic Mini batteries and can be used as a power bench). ;) As of today, the Mavic Mini drone can be pre-ordered in two versions at the DJI Store. The new ultra-light drone from DJI will be delivered in mid-November. The prices and equipment variants of the DJI Mavic Mini drone are as follows: Mavic Mini standard version: 399,- Euro The Mavic Mini, a remote control, a battery, additional propellers and all the necessary tools and cables.
