Microphone specialist Deity has unveiled at NAB 2023 the Deity Pocket PR-2 Audio Recorder, a compact audio recorder aimed specifically at filmmakers with an integrated preamp and a lockable 3.5mm stereo mic/stereo line input. It can also be used with lavalier microphones for interview setups or 3.5 mm directional microphones for other recording situations. ;) Deity Pocket PR-2 Audio Recorder
The Deity PR-2 Pocket Audio Recorder is operated via its display or wirelessly over a Sidus Audio Bluetooth mesh network using the Sidus App (iOS/Android), which allows up to 20 devices to be controlled from distances of up to 75 meters using a single smartphone. It is also equipped with an integrated timecode generator and output, which also serves as a timecode box for cameras. The PR-2 Pocket Recorder has an inherent noise of -132dBV @ +30dB and supports 24-bit and 32-bit float recording formats. The 32-bit float recording allows correct recordings without constantly monitoring the audoip levels. ;) Sidus App The Deity PR-2 can also wirelessly synchronize timecode from the Deity TC-1 timecode generator boxes, adding timecode metadata to WAV recordings. This allows the resulting audio to be easily synchronized with video recordings in post-production. The headphone output allows for live monitoring and pre-recording lavalier sound quality checks - power comes from two AA batteries, providing nearly 30 hours of operation.
