At Gamescom, Dell announced several new Alienware monitors in an elegant SF design. A very special model is the 4K UltraHD 55 incher AW5520QF with OLED technology and frame rates up to 120 Hz. The huge monitor with a screen diagonal of almost 1.5 meters achieves a very good contrast of 130,000:1 due to its OLEDs and the resulting black level.
One weak point, however, seems to be the brightness, which averages only 130 nits and is a maximum of 400 nits (but only for a short time and on a limited area) - values that are not sufficient to represent real HDR. After all, the professional DCI-P3 color space is covered to 98.5%. Dynamic frame rates are supported by AMD's FreeSync, the horizontal and vertical viewing angle is - probably due to the low brightness - only 120°, typically 178°.

There are one DisplayPort 1.4 and three HDMI 2.0 ports on board - the former, however, is the only one with sufficient bandwidth to display 8-bit 4K at the high frame rate of 120 Hz. Furthermore, the AW5520QF offers a USB 3.0 hub with four outputs and a 3.5 mm jack plus S/PDIF connector. The Dell Alienware AW5520Q has its own remote control, consumes 100-390W in operation and will be launched on the German market on 30 September at a price of around 3,500 euros.

The other two innovations are the 27 inch AW2720HF, which can display up to 240 frames per second on a FullHD 8-bit IPS panel with a brightness of up to 350 nits and the Curved 21:9 34" AW3420DW with a resolution of 3,440 × 1,440 pixels, G-Sync and 120 Hz. Its IPS panel covers 134.5% of the sRGB color space and 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, and will be available on August 28, 2019 for 1,500, while the AW2720HF will be available on September 17 for approximately .
