EIZOs has introduced a successor model to the 
FlexScan EV2780 which shows improvements in two main areas. The new EIZO FlexScan EV2785 now has a higher resolution with 4K UltraHD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels compared to the previous model's 2,560 x 1,440 pixels) and thus a higher pixel density of 163 ppi. In addition, it can now power a connected notebook via USB-C with 60W instead of only 30W. Unfortunately, the USB-C port still supports only USB 3.1 Gen1 and not the much more powerful Thunderbolt 3.
EIZO's new 27" (68.58cm) monitor uses an 8-bit IPS panel (with 10-bit LUT) that covers the sRTB color space, with a brightness of 350 cd/m², a contrast of 1:1.300 and a viewing angle of 178° horizontally and vertically as well as an anti-reflective surface. Two HDMI and two DisplayPort signal inputs are available at the interfaces (one of which is implemented via USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen1) in alternate mode). The side frame is very narrow with 1mm (plus a black frame of 5.7mm in the display) and predestines the EIZO FlexScan EV2785 for multi-monitor setups.

The screen brightness, which can be adjusted from 1-100%, is automatically adjusted to the brightness of the environment by means of an Auto EcoView function with the aid of a sensor. The screen can be tilted 90° to the side (pivot), rotated by 344° around its own axis, tilted forward or backward by -5/+35° and lifted 178 mm. Using EIZO's Screen InStyle software, the monitor can be conveniently controlled from a Windows PC - the adjustment options include colour rendering, energy-saving options and ergonomic functions such as reducing the proportion of blue light. Practically, Screen InStyle also ensures that the settings of all monitors are synchronized during multi-monitor setups: if, for example, the brightness or color temperature of one monitor is changed, the other displays are appropriately adjusted.
The EIZO FlexScan EV2785 is to be available in a white and black version from January 2018 and can now be pre-ordered in Hanel from around 1,130 euros - the official price recommendation of EIZO is 1,189 euros. EIZO offers a 5-year warranty and on-site replacement service.
