At the IBC Grass Valley presents the latest update for Edius, which now also allows the import of Blackmagic RAW files in v9.5. The editing program also supports the special color spaces of the Blackmagic cameras. Canon Cinema Raw Light and Sony X-OCN material can also be edited; Sony Raw support has been updated to version 3.3.
The Multicam feature is improved again. Now it is possible to synchronize multi-camera recordings via audio as promised. Synchronization is possible both before and during editing, for example, when the project is supplemented with additional recordings. Ultra-fast audio analysis is achieved by supporting clip marks.
New in EDIUS 9.50 is the export including alpha channel in the format ProRes 4444 and as usual also the media management software Mync learns how to handle the new formats, supports among other things now the decoding of Blackmagic RAW material.
The update will be available today and free of charge for existing customers. As part of a promotional campaign, customers who purchase the current version of Edius can upgrade free of charge to the next version in 2020.
