The editing software Edius X is now available -- this 10th version brings completely new core functions. The rendering now runs as a background process, which allows uninterrupted work. The export also runs in the background, while you can continue working normally. The GV Job Monitor shows which tasks are active in the background and allows you to change their order.
Hardware acceleration now takes into account compatible Nvidia graphics cards for H.265 encoding in addition to QuickSync. The Edius Workgroup version supports resolutions up to 8K. In EDIUS X Pro, on the other hand, the preview resolution can be reduced (as before in the workgroup) to get more real-time performance.
Also new is the support of additional VST plug-ins, such as more complex audio filters that require latency compensation, as well as the integration of the WaveShell. In Multicam editing, the automatic audio synchronization of all clips is to be even faster.
A new motion tracker offers two different modes. In Tracking mode, a label, animation or video clip can be easily attached to the tracked object, while in Anchor mode the screen section is automatically adjusted in relation to the tracked object. The latter is useful for converting aspect ratios or for editing virtual multi-camera rotations.
Part of the Edius X package are also three third party modules that should be specially adapted to Edius:
- For audio optimization the audio filters Compress, DeNoise, DeVerberate and Limit from Acon Digital are included.
- For the creation of titles, animated graphics, scrolling titles and belly bandages, EDIUS X includes the NewBlue Titler Pro 7
- For Video Effects & Seamless Transitions there is the proDAD Vitascene V4 EDIUS Edition with over 100 seamless transition effects as well as approx. 250 high-quality filters and transition effects from Vitascene 3 LE.
Edius X only runs on Windows X systems, a CPU with AVX2 support is also required. The program currently costs 574 Euro, the Edius Workgroup version is available for 1061 Euro. All 10.x updates are available free of charge to EDIUS X users during the expected lifecycle of about two to three years. Planned features include teamwork functions and enhanced workflow options by including the cloud.
