FUJIFILM X-T4 - Video DSLM with many stabilization options and internal F-Log

Now it&s official: the new FUJI X-T4 comes with a 26.1 megapixel X-Trans sensor. Of particular interest to film-makers is that this time it is mounted in a movable position, which means that camera shake can be partially compensated for during filming. Furthermore, the sensor stabilization can be combined with 18 (not explicitly mentioned) stabilized FUJI lenses for even better results. And on top of that, an electronic image stabilisation function (DIS) can be switched on in video mode, which slightly crops the image section and can use edge pixels for stabilisation. A special "IS (Image Stabilisation) Boost" mode attempts to virtually hold the camera in space, thus making a tripod superfluous.
Compared to the X-H1, by the way, the moving sensor is not moved by small springs but by magnetic force, which is supposed to make the suspension 30 percent smaller and 20 percent lighter. A new gyro sensor is also expected to be able to detect movements much more precisely. In terms of stabilization, the FUJI X-T4 should therefore be quite interesting for filmmakers.
The display, which now folds out completely, and the viewfinder have three working modes: Low Light Priority brightens the image so that the user can clearly see the subject even in low light. Resolution Priority on the other hand shows fine details. This is probably in contrast to Frame Rate Priority, which minimizes camera shake in the viewfinder when shooting a moving subject. This probably means that for a smooth preview, the resolution shown here is reduced in favor of a higher frame rate. The viewfinder still offers a fairly high resolution of 3.69 million dots.
The popular film simulation modes have been extended by "ETERNA Bleach Bypass". This simulates a traditional processing technique for silver halide films that produces images with low saturation and high contrast. The autofocus is also said to have been improved over X-T3.
The modes "Still Picture" and "Video" now have separate menus, which should please pure filmmakers. There is also a separate "video quick menu" (Q menu). Thanks to the two slots, video in the same format can now be recorded simultaneously on two SD cards as a backup. The 240fps mode with FullHD recording also sounds interesting.
In 4K, the camera should be able to record up to 60p internally, whereby the sensor is partially clipped. The predecessor XT-3 internally handled 10 bit 4:2:0 to 60p. In any case, the internal F-Log recording is considered secured for X-T4. An F-Log View Assist function can convert the flat image profile in display and viewfinder for live preview to REC.709.
The microphone input can now be switched between MIC level and LINE level. And last but not least, the battery needs to be mentioned. This has been almost doubled in performance compared to the X-T3 (now 2200 mAh instead of 1260 mAh). It should even be able to be charged faster via USB-C.
The FUJI X-T4 should be available from the end of April for 1,799 Euros. There will also be two kit options:
FUJIFILM X-T4 + FUJINON XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS for 2,199 Euro
FUJIFILM X-T4 + FUJINON XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR for 2,299 Euro
