Wondershare&s Filmora v13 is an editing software that many (like us) may not be aware of. It runs on both desktop computers and mobile devices, is supposed to be easy to use, and yet offers some ambitious features - not least, it has extremely many AI functions on board. Filmora 13 with text-based editing In the new version, these have been greatly expanded once again. For example, Filmora 13 offers video transcription with the possibility of text-based editing of the video afterwards, and it also includes an "AI Copilot", which it seems allows changes to the edit to be made via text commands. AI Smart Masking "AI Smart Masking", on the other hand, helps to effortlessly mask objects in the video. Super Slow Motion via Optical Flow is also AI-based. License-free background music can be created and adapted to the video with the help of AI, and an "AI Vocal Remover" separates voices from a music mix. Even a (own?) text-to-video AI generator is integrated, according to Wondershare, so that assets can be created directly in the program via prompt. AI Music Generator Other enhancements over the previous version include multi-clip editing, support for "JKL" shortcuts when playing the timeline, and the ability to group multiple tracks during editing to edit them together as one (Compound Clip). Professional video scopes have also been added (RGB Waveform, Monitors, and Vectorscopes), as well as a Keyframe Graph Editor that lets you customize keyframe properties. Multitrack editing Video scopes The algorithms for video stabilization and motion tracking, screen recording and various video templates have been optimized. The full list of new features can be found here. Filmora is available for both PC and Mac, as well as for mobile devices. Various subscription plans are offered (e.g. for per year), but also a perpetual license for a PC or Mac version ( each). A free trial version is fully functional, but it adds watermarks on export. AI features such as speech-to-text, text-to-video, and co-pilot, among others, are billed via credits. Such credits are included in the licenses in varying amounts (unlimited in the annual subscription). We have not yet been able to test how good Filmora&s AI functions really are, for example in comparison with Adobe. If anyone has had any experience with the program, we would be happy to receive a comment in the forum.
