Firmware update for Canon EOS C200, C300 Mark II, C700, XF400/405 // NAB 2018

Canon has provided a firmware update for a number of its pro video cameras. With this, it is possible to record in XF-AVC (MXF) format on the XF405, XF400 and EOS C200. The C200 also automatically incorporates the lens metadata (MXF), including the effective focal length, as will the interchangeable lens models EOS C700, EOS C700 GS and EOS C300 Mark II.

The EOS C200 also has a number of other new features. It now features Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) output control, 24-bit LPCM audio for Cinema RAW Light and an option to use a 1.5x, 3x or 6x digital teleconverter. The EOS C200´s segmented frame support (25PsF) also allows the use of monitors that cannot display the material recorded in 50p/60p/24p. Touch screen sensitivity has also been improved on the EOS C200 (and the EOS C300 Mark II) to make it easier to select the focus position.
