DJI's professional camera drone Inspire 3 has been on the market since last year and offers the option of using various interchangeable lenses with its Zenmuse X9-Air gimbal camera. So far, four focal lengths have been available, 18/24/35/50mm, all with a maximum aperture of F2.8. Now - as already announced at the time - a short telephoto lens is also being released.

DL lenses incl. new 75mm F1.8
The 75mm F1.8 DL lens is faster than the lenses already available. The optical structure consists of ten elements in nine groups, including three lenses with particularly low dispersion. At the same time, a UMC coating is designed to minimize internal reflections, which promotes higher contrast and therefore clearer images.
As a lens specially optimized for aerial photography, it benefits from a carbon fibre housing and weighs just 269 grams. Counterweight blocks for the pitch and yaw axes are designed to ensure that the drone gimbal maintains its balance in flight.
The DJI DL 75 mm lens is available for 1499 euros; in addition to the lens, the scope of delivery includes a lens protection glass, a lens counterweight ring, a counterweight block for the pitch axis, a counterweight block for the yaw axis, a storage box, a screwdriver and screws.
Also: New firmware update for Inspire 3
In addition, a new firmware version for the DJI Inspire 3 has been available for download since September 3. It contains the following new features and improvements:
- Added support for DJI DL 75mm F1.8 lens.
- Added PinPoint mode for Spotlight Pro to support selecting a GPS coordinate point as a subject.
- Added support for activating Dynamic Start Point.
- Added AEB mode as an option when taking photos.
- Added support for setting and recording the gimbal roll angle when using Waypoint Pro.
- Added Adaptive Yaw Speed option to the Expo parameters in Flight Control Parameters.
- The Adaptive Gimbal Speed option has been added to the Gimbal parameters.
- Added flight mode protection to the flight control parameters.
- Added support for displaying the gimbal roll angle in the live view.
- Added subframe customization to the display parameters in the advanced camera settings.
- Added support for selecting audio resources after connecting a monitor to the HDMI port of the remote control.
- Added support for copying the video cache from the remote control to the SD card in the album.
- Added a loop code for footage file names and folder names to avoid repeated names.
- Updated the Vision Assist rear view to an anti-glare display.
- Fixed some minor bugs.
