The so far somewhat bumpy start of Intel desktop graphics cards is finally to manifest itself in an available A770. At the Intel Innovation 2022 event, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger confirmed that the ARC A770 GPU will now be launched in the fourth quarter. After many delays, Intel has thus narrowly missed its last self-imposed target ("in the summer") for the last time. And so the graphics card will actually only go on sale at a time when AMD and Nvidia are already delivering their top models of the latest generation. In terms of performance, Intel&s A770 will compete with an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti or a Radeon 6650 XT. The fact that these cards consume 180-200W, which is slightly less than the new Intel card with 225W, should not play a major role in the desktop. On the other hand, Intel will probably attack the price and now promises an entry-level price of 329 dollars, which in this country including VAT will probably mean 399 euros. It can be assumed that Intel is referring to the 8GB model. Unlike AMD and Nvidia, however, Intel will also offer this GPU class with 16GB, which could promise advantages especially for 8K video editing. The 256-bit memory interface with over 500 GB/s is also fast enough for many effects applications. The Intel ARC A770 desktop graphics card - available from 12 October for approx. 400 euros? And not only that: according to current rumours, the new AMD and Nvidia GPUs will still not support hardware 10-bit 4:2:2 decoding, which Intel has already been able to do via Quicksync for two CPU generations. For many video editors, these codec formats are obligatory and fast decoding can be a decisive factor in purchasing. However, the availability of the cards remains uncertain. For Intel has only promised that a "Limited Edition" (LE) will be available from 12 October. This means that perhaps not many cards will make it into German stores at all. At least Intel has also confirmed that the A770 LE has now been sent to numerous testers. So at least we will get an insight into the status of the current drivers on 12 October. more infos at bei videocardz.com deutsche Version dieser Seite: Intel ARC A770 Desktop-Grafikkarte ab 12.Oktober für ca. 400 Euro im Handel |
