Free Blackmagic Camera App 1.4 for Android available - now also for Sony Xperia

Unfortunately, alternative codecs such as ProRes are still not supported on Android, but there is now support for Tentacle Sync, Bluetooth microphones, audio monitoring during recording and new options for the recording bit rate.
Here is the complete list of all new features in version 1.4, which is now available for free download in the Google Play App Store:

- Recording bitrate options for H.264 and H.265 codecs. - Support for compatible Oppo devices. - Support for Sony Xperia series 1, 5 and Pro-I devices. - General performance and stability improvements.
The Blackmagic Camera App not only allows you to manually adjust settings such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance and ISO. The interface also displays many status and recording parameters such as histogram, focus peaking, levels or image markers. Autofocus is also supported by tapping on objects.
A unique feature is probably the direct recording into a DaVinci Resolve project or with up to 8K into the Blackmagic Cloud. This allows the clips to be edited collaboratively immediately after recording. By recording to Blackmagic Cloud Storage, editors and editors from anywhere in the world can simultaneously access these files under DaVinci Resolve projects.
The Android version can currently only record in H.264 and H.265. Apple ProRes as well as anamorphic de-squeeze and lens correction settings are still reserved for iPhones.
Blackmagic itself does not have a list, but we believe the app should now be compatible with the following smartphones:
Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22, Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6a Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7a, 7 Pro, 8 and 8 Pro OnePlus 11 and 12 Samsung Galaxy S21, S22, S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra or S24, S24 Plus, S24 Ultra Sony Xperia devices from the 1, 5 and Pro-I series Xiaomi 13 and 14
