After Canon was one of the first camera manufacturers to release a first beta version of its EOS Webcam Utility at ![]() Canon EOS R6 as Webcam via Utility
An EOS camera connected to a computer via USB is displayed as a USB camera using the EOS Webcam Utility and can be used as an image source in live streaming or video conferencing programs. Owners of an EOS camera can thus do without an extra capture box or special commercial software to use their Canon camera as a webcam. The following video explains how to install the software, set up the camera and then use it as a webcam in an online video conference software such as Zoom or Skype. A version for macOS is in work and will be released soon. Now almost all major camera manufacturers have released special software to provide webcam functionality (mostly under Windows and/or macOS) to some of their models.
