Enve is a completely free 2D vector graphics animation tool, which for the time being is only available under Linux (but should be relatively easy to port to Windows and MacOS). Enve stands as an acronym for "Enve is Not a Video Editor", which is a rather deep negative definition.
The interface uses many ideas from Flash, Blender, Inkscape and After Effects. A keyframe timeline dominates with a preview window in which individual vector elements can be edited directly. All objects and filter properties can be animated between keyframes with various curve properties. A particularly exciting feature is that GLSL effects can also be used, allowing any OpenGL-capable graphics card to be used for effect acceleration.
