G-Drive Mobile SSD R-Series: external SSDs with 560 MB/s via USB 3.1 Gen2 // IBC 2017

The new small mobile SSDs from G-Technology&s new G-Drive mobile SSD R-Series are designed for use in video editing on the go and are therefore fast and robustly built - in contrast to traditional hard disks without mechanical parts, they are less susceptible to faults.

The up to 2TB SSDs can transfer data via USB 3.1 Gen2 interface with up to 560 MB/sec to all notebooks/PCs also equipped with USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen2). Using the supplied adapter cable, they also work on old USB 3.0/2.0 ports - but at reduced speed.

G-Drive Mobile SSD R-Series

The G-Drive Mobile SSD R-Series SSDs are dust- and (for a short time) waterproof according to the IP67 standard and come with a 5-year warranty. They are compatible with Windows and Mac OS X and will be available in models with 500 MB (200 dollars), 1TB (380 dollars) and 2TB (700 dollars) before the end of this year.
