Not every video editors wish to take on a large computer on or under the desk. Or people who are willing to pay well for relatively potent technology in the smallest possible cases a certain charge, for the could the Intel NUC Kit Skull Canyon are very interesting. PIC 1 For in this barebone, the one itself nor with (max 32 GB) RAM and (1-2) M.2 SSDs populating must put an amazing computing power, as measured by the Gehaeusevolumen of just 0.69 liters. Installed is a 45 watt Core i7-6770HQ which links 4 cores + hyperthreading with the current Iris Pro 580 GPU full expansion. This should be sufficient with about 1 TFLOPS performance under Adobe applications even for liquid 4K video editing. And Resolve supports more recently Intel&s GPU solutions. The M.2 read ratesup to 2GB / s seem to be more than sufficient also for almost all video editing needs. There are even a Thunderbolt port 3, by which one could theoretically even connect an external GPU (which would, but the whole minimalist Gehaeusekonzept absurdity lead). Mass storage is also gets significantly cheaper via 4x USB 3.0 (and even 1 x USB 3.1 (Type-C)) to the computer docked. And a Mini DisplayPort + HDMI 2.0 output with max 4k60p is also one of the party. PIC 2 Initial tests there are already criticizing especially the audible Luefter under load and for current games to weak GPU performance. Otherwise, Intel promises here probably no less than top consumer technology in a remarkably flat Gehaeuse. An exact weight used to be difficult to investigate, Bilder zur Newsmeldung:
