Kinefinity MAVO - 6K fullscreen, CinemaDNG and MAVO primes

The Chinese camera manufacturer Kinefinity has introduced a rather surprising new 6K camera series called MAVO. It consists of two models, which differ only in the sensor size. The Kinefinity MAVO LF with a 36 x24m full-frame sensor and the MAVO 6K S35 with a 24 x 18mm sensor can record a maximum of 6K at up to 66fps and 4K at 100fps. Although the sensor size is different between the two models, the same dynamic range of 14+ f-stops is given for both models. However, the base ISO of the LF model is 800, while the S35 model is 1600.
The rolling shutter should be lower on both models than on the Terra 6K, which, however, had only quite moderate rolling shutter values. Kinefinity does not make a comparison with the quite good Terra 4K on its own website, which is why we assume that the rolling shutter behavior of the MAVO will not be as good as the reading speed of the Terra 4K model.
The MAVO models remain with the in-house KineMOUNT, which offers a wide range of lens options (including PL, Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony FE/E and EF/PL, as well as electronic ND/e-ND) thanks to its own adapters. Kinefintiy also announces a set of five full-format cine-primes with PL mount, which are called MAVO primes. These cover an image circle of 46.5mm and should even be suitable for 8K shots in sharpness.
The focal lengths are 25 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 75 mm and 135 mm, all at T2.0. Each lens has a 95mm front and weighs about 1.2-1.3 kg. The whole MAVO Prime Set costs 12,000 USD or 2400 USD per piece. Both MAVO models offer internal CinemaDNG raw recording as a novelty. Three compression levels (3:1, 5:1 and 7:1), which can also be processed natively in Resolve. Alternatively, there are 12bit ProRes 4444 XQ, 4444, 4444 and 422HQ/422/LT/Proxy, and still the proprietary KineRaw, which offers compression ratios from 2:1 to 10:1. Like all Terra models, the MAVO case remains just under 1kg and most Terra accessories should remain compatible. There is a new wireless KineBACK W add-on module that has a wireless slot that requires a special wireless card, turning the MAVO into a wireless camera with a range of 600m.
The"small" S35 MAVO model is to be available from about 8,000 US dollars, but a price estimate for the full-format MAVO LF has not yet been announced. A concrete delivery date has not yet been announced either, but a mention of BIRTV 2018 in China, which will take place in August, was made in this context.
