The mobile video editing app LumaFusion has been updated to version 5.0 for iOS, but its biggest new feature can only be unlocked with an in-app purchase of 19.99 euros: Speed Ramping and advanced keyframing.
LumaFusion 5.0 SpeedRamping
With these paid functions, you can create precise speed progressions in a video so that the action sometimes runs faster, sometimes slower or even freezes. Constant or variable speeds and breakpoints between keyframes can be defined.
Videos, images and effects can be easily animated in a Bézier curve editor. Independent controls for size, position and rotation offer precise control over keyframe animations. Keyframes can also be moved easily. Tempo and Ease diagrams show how Ease control affects an animation.
The other (free) improvements in LumaFusion 5.0 are rather modest. The ability to show grids and title/actionsafe frames has been added, and the user interface of effect editors can now be customized so that the size of the preview, preset and settings windows corresponds to the respective working focus. The preview can be switched to the clip editor.
The LumaFusion app from LumaTouch has been available for over five years and is optimized for use on the iPad, but now has competition from Blackmagic Design in the form of a special (and, as always, free) version of DaVinci Resolve. (Here is our review of Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve for iPad Pro.)
