The audio equipment manufacturer RØDE, together with partners such as Blackmagic, Zhiyun, Atomos, Adobe, Movcam and Freefly, is now hosting the world's largest short film competition, "My RØDE Reel", for the sixth year in a row. There are 28 different technical and content categories in which filmmakers can be successful with their work, such as best sound design, best camera work, best comedy, best action film and best drama.
Every filmmaker, whether beginner, hobby filmmaker, vlogger, YouTuber or professional, can take part. The filmmaker must hold all the rights to his or her films, have not yet submitted them to other festivals and be 13 years of age or older. The exact conditions of participation can be found at
here.

The prizes
The submitted short film can be between 60 seconds and 3 minutes long and must be accompanied by a Behind-the-Scenes clip documenting the use of RØDE equipment in the film project. The closing date for entries is Tuesday, August 27, 2019. The winners will be announced on October 4.
Especially attractive are the
prizes worth over 1 million dollars, consisting of hardware (including Blackmagic cameras, various Gimbals by Zhiyun and Freefly, lenses by Sigma) plus software (such as Adobe CC, Blastwave FX, FilmConvert and various suites by Red Giant) by the various partners and, of course, a large amount of audio equipment by RØDE itself, each of which is awarded per category. In addition, the first 2,000 participants will receive a "My RØDE Reel" T-shirt as a gift.
