This allows both playing as the encoding of the clips in the Matrox VideoForWindows container (VfW). It also includes the codecs for which had been stuck or special Matrox hardware (such as an Axio) in the system. Specifically, the following codecs are included, the 32 and 64 bit Windows will work under both: Matrox DV / DVCAM DVCPRO Matrox Matrox Matrox DVCPRO50 DVCPRO HD Matrox MPEG-2 I-frame in SD and HD, with or without alpha Matrox Uncompressed in SD and HD, with or without alpha Offline Matrox Matrox M-JPEG HD and HDV (playback only) Especially interesting are MPEG-2 I-frame (because this data rate to 300 Mbps at 4:2:2 High Profile up are possible) and the Uncompressed codec that supports 10 bit. Because these formats are suitable therefore very suitable as intermediate codec, which should also be very fast. User reports indicate that the codecs are at the cutting not as fast as the 100 dollar Cineform, but clearly performs better than Avid's DNxHD freely available. Latter, there are also for the Mac, while you remain confined to the Matrox codecs on Windows systems for file sharing.
