Even though Midjourney is now part of the standard toolkit for many creatives, until recently the program still required the social web platform Discord as a user interface to the AI model. With the Alpha version, which was released a few hours ago, the popular AI image generation finally gets its own (web) interface - along with some new, practical control options.
![]() The Describe feature also seems very cool to us. This allows Midjourney to generate selectable description words for an uploaded image. Using such a chain of descriptive words as a prompt, Midjourney would attempt to generate the uploaded image itself. A "Explore" tab also allows you to explore a hundred publicly accessible prompts, inviting you to experiment with your own. If you are looking for some inspiration, you can spend hours here dealing with already well-functioning prompt prototypes and discover many tricks for your own works. However, not every user currently gets access to the new interface of the alpha version. To do this, you must have already generated at least 10,000 images with Midjourney. This is a not inconsiderable barrier to entry, which is likely to pose problems even for some power users. But sooner or later, the alpha version will certainly open up to more users. Oh yes, also not unimportant to mention: An inpainting version doesn&t seem to have made it into the new interface yet. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Midjourney Alpha - jetzt ohne Discord, aber mit Explore- und Prompt-Archiv |
