AI tools promise huge time savings, including in compositing and VFX, and are increasingly being integrated into existing software solutions. Mocha Pro 2025, for example, now offers two new AI-based features that help with tasks such as garbage masks and track mattes.
For example, the new Object Brush (based on Mask ML) allows you to isolate objects with a single click and create instantly editable splines that can be tracked across frames using one of Mocha Pro&s traditional Planar or PowerMesh trackers. The Surface Brush tool can be used to further refine a selection. ;) Mocha Pro 2025 Object Brush Matte Assist is part of the new Matte module and uses AI to create animated vector masks from a single input, such as splines drawn with the Object Brush. These automated masks can be used in all Mocha Pro modules for tracking, object removal and 3D camera solves. The vector masks created can be scaled up or down depending on the requirements of a project. ;) Matte Assist The SynthEyes 3D tracking technology added in the last update has been expanded. Mocha Pro 2025 now offers the ability to solve moving objects in 3D scenes. Artists can combine Planar and PowerMesh tracking data to create accurate meshes and point clouds for complex 3D tracking shots. Solve data can be integrated into popular VFX applications via USD, Alembic and FBX exports. After Effects users can export Solve data via the Mocha Pro user interface or create it directly in After Effects using the Mocha Pro plugin. ;){kind=tracking} 3D tracking of moving objects Furthermore, the data export has been optimized and the export dialog has been redesigned. Mocha Pro tracking data should be easier to export by managing tracking, shape and 3D data exports centrally in one interface. Among other things, users can select data export options according to popular host specifications and save presets. A small improvement in the background concerns software updates. A new feature here is the option to take your current default settings with you when installing a newer version of Mocha Pro so that you can continue working with your own workflows without having to reconfigure them. The new version also complies with the VFX Reference Platform 2023, which enables seamless integration into modern pipelines. Mocha Pro is available as a plugin and standalone application via monthly/yearly subscriptions, upgrade and support plans and perpetual licenses.
