Not completely surprisingly, but somewhat earlier than expected, Intel has presented the first graphics cards of its second GPU generation “Battlemage”: As the successor to the Arc A580, the Arc B580 is said to be around 10 percent faster than a GeForce RTX 4060 and will be available next week for around 250 US dollars. A slightly smaller Arc B570 will follow from January 16 for 220 dollars. According to Intel, speed and efficiency have been significantly increased compared to the first GPU generation. New Intel Arc B580 and B570 graphics cards for 220-250 dollars introduced Intel&s Arc B580 and B570 use the same chip, but the B570 “lacks” 2 Xe cores with 256 shaders. While the Arc B580 enables 12 GB GDDR6 graphics memory on a 192 bit bus with 456 GB/s, the Arc B570 only has 10 GB on 160 bit with 380GB/s. The larger card will require approx. 190 watts of board power, the smaller one will manage with 150 watts. GDDR7 or PCIe 5.0 are obviously not available from Intel in this generation. We had the larger Arc 770 predecessor card with 256-bit bus in our test, where in addition to its hardware support for 10-bit 4:2:2 decoding, its low price was particularly impressive. Due to its price, the B580 should be particularly interesting for video users who want to upgrade soon and cheaply. For the patient, however, it will certainly be worth waiting until the beginning of January, when AMD and Nvidia will present their new GPU series. AMD is expected to primarily serve the mid-range with a particularly attractive range this year (i.e. probably in the price range of 400-600 euros), while Nvidia will initially only equip its upper class in the model series above an RTX 5070 with new, expensive models. The latter are then very likely to dominate the performance tables for the time being. Whether AMD and/or Nvidia will finally support 10-bit 4:2:2 decoding remains to be seen. more infos at bei www.computerbase.de deutsche Version dieser Seite: Neue Intel Arc B580 and B570 Grafikkarten für 220-250 Dollar vorgestellt |
