With the latest version of its cutting program for ambitious hobbyists, Corel is now saying goodbye to the sequential numbering (X11 would have been it), but appends the year. For example, VideoStudio Ultimate 2018 includes a simple correction of fisheye distortion in actioncam recordings and templates for split-screen video. In addition, you can also create your own splitscreen templates in the Ultimate version. In addition to Intel, nVidia CUDA is now supported for hardware acceleration.
The user interface has been optimized again. New here is the possibility to access frequently used editing tools for resizing, cropping and alignment of the media directly in the preview window. New intelligent guide lines should help with the latter. New keyboard shortcuts can also be used to mark out insert points or DVD chapters on the timeline. In addition, the height of each track can now be adjusted individually. New controls are designed to make it easier to create pan and zoom shots from a single shot (naturally, there should be enough resolution reserves to ensure that the image quality does not suffer too much). Nikon cameras are now also supported for stop-motion animation.
VideoStudio Ultimate 2018 brings a new 3D titler with which texture, lighting and motion can be adapted and custom designs can be created.
