DJI has now released its new entry-level Mini SE in the U.S., after it has been available for purchase in South America, Southeast Asia and Russia for several weeks. ;) DJI Mini SE In terms of features, however, the new Mini SE is largely the same as the old  DJI Mini, which has since been discontinued and was launched in 2019. For example, the DJI Mini SE&s camera (like the Mini) has a 12-megapixel 1/2.3-inch sensor, which can be used to record video in either 2.7K resolution at a max of 30fps or 1080p video at a max of 60fps (and a maximum bitrate of 40 Mbps in each case). ;) DJI Mini SE If you need 4K video, you&ll have to reach for a more expensive model like the Mini 2 or Mavic Air 2s - but here, the latter at least lands you in a different drone class with more limitations. Live video (720p30) can be transmitted up to a range of 4 kilometers via radio from the drone to the remote control and displayed on a smartphone. ;) DJI Mini SE Flight modes include various so-called "QuickShots" as well as three pre-programmed, comprehensive modes: the position mode (P) is for simple standard flight, the sport mode (S) is available for more experienced pilots and the so-called CineSmooth mode (C) for content creators. The latter is said to include slowed down deceleration to get higher quality footage. Via Quickshot, preset flight movements can be executed automatically, such as dronie, rocket, circling and helix. Stabilizing the DJI Mini SE camera is a three-axis motorized gimbal. One battery charge (2,600 mAh) is enough for about 30 minutes of flight time in calm conditions. The Mini SE can climb at a maximum of 4 meters per second and is fast up to 13 m/s (without wind). The remote control is the same as the Mini (not the updated version of the Mini 2) and uses a smartphone as a display for video transmission and flight planning.  DJI Mini SE Remote Control Like previous Mini Mavics, the SE has retractable rotor arms - so it&s about the size of a larger smartphone when folded for transport at 131 x 81 x 58mm, and then 245 x 289 x 56mm when ready to fly with the propellers mounted. The DJI Mini SE costs around 300 dollars in the USA, it should also (somewhat later) appear in this country, presumably for around 300 euros - at any rate, the product page does not yet exist in German.
