Samsung has unveiled a series of new monitors: the Smart Monitor M9, the Odyssey G8/G6 and 3D, and the ViewFinity S8. These monitors boast interesting features such as AI functions, support for glasses-free 3D, or a 500 Hz refresh rate for OLED. The models in detail: ;)
Samsung Smart Monitor M9The major innovation of Samsung&s 32-inch Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF) is the first-time integration of a series of special AI functions. These functions are designed to help users automatically find the optimal display settings and improve the display quality of certain content. The AI Picture Optimizer analyzes the PC&s input signals to determine the type of content displayed (is it a game, video, or productivity application?) and automatically adjusts the display settings accordingly. For gamers, it even goes further – at least with some games – optimizing the image settings further according to the genre of the current game. ;) Samsung Smart Monitor M9 The M9 can also upscale content played via Samsung&s Smart TV app or Gaming Hub from lower resolutions to 4K quality using the 4K AI Upscaling Pro algorithm. The Smart Monitor M9 with 4K resolution uses OLED technology and supports a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz and the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 standard, meaning it can display true black and covers at least 95% of the professional DCI-P3 color space. A 4K camera for video conferencing is also integrated – Samsung will release further technical data before the product launch. ;) Samsung Odyssey G8 Samsung Odyssey G8 and G6 with OLEDSamsung is expanding its Odyssey gaming monitor series with the OLED G8 and G6 models. The Odyssey OLED G8 (model G81SF) is the world&s first 27-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor – it features a resolution of 165 PPI (pixels per inch) and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The Odyssey OLED G6 (model G60SF) is the first OLED monitor ever with a 500 Hz refresh rate on its QHD display (2560 x 1440). Both models offer a response time of 0.03 ms (GTG) and support VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 as well as AMD&s FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA&s G-Sync for displaying variable refresh rates. Both reduce distracting reflections and glare via Samsung&s OLED Glare Free. Samsung Odyssey 3DThe 27-inch Samsung Odyssey 3D also targets gamers but is entirely focused on the display of autostereoscopic 3D. Thanks to its lenticular lenses attached to the panel and the front stereo camera, the Odyssey 3D offers a personalized 3D experience without the need for separate 3D glasses. Depth is also added to the content by using AI to analyze and convert 2D videos into 3D. ;) Samsung ViewFinity S8 Samsung ViewFinity S8The 37-inch ViewFinity S8 (model S80UD) is Samsung&s largest 16:9 4K monitor to date, with approximately 34 percent more display area than its 32-inch predecessor. It covers 99 percent of the sRGB color space and is certified by TÜV Rheinland as an "Ergonomic Workspace Display". It features automatic adjustment of the color temperature to the ambient light to reduce eye strain. A KVM switch is also integrated, allowing the monitor to be used for multiple devices with just one mouse and keyboard.
