At the Interbee in Japan, Nikon presented its new power zoom Z 28-135mm f/4 PZ on the Nikon Z9. In addition to the zoom rocker on the side of the lens, the motorised zoom also appears to be operated via freely assignable buttons on the body. If we have seen it correctly, it should also be possible in future to set the manual direction of rotation for the focus for Z Nikkor lenses. The Z9 shown at the Interbee runs with the not yet released firmware 5.10 (current firmware for the Nikon Z9 = 5.00). With the power zoom operation and the shutter angle function, Nikon seems to have quite a video-heavy firmware update up its sleeve ... It&s cool to see how consistently Nikon is increasing the video power of its DSLMs step by step.
