The first beta version of new (legal) Open Source Project Mayo DivX codec is out. The new codec is not in itself compatible with popular DivX 3.11 Alpha codec, as we know, a hacked version of Microsoft's MPEG4 codec - but he will probably replace him in the future because he is free, first (and Decorder encoder) and secondly an open-source project, meaning there are plenty of helpers to the codec and the appropriate tools to improve steadily. Included in the package "The Playa" codec (encoder and decoder), documentation, and utilities. Since the present version is still in beta, the developers ask for help in debugging and testing of the codec. It is possible to play DivX files 3:11 - but is not yet clear whether it works without any glitches at every little more infos at bei www.divx.com deutsche Version dieser Seite: OpenDivX 4.0 (Beta) |
