The third Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit lens from the F2.8-4.0 ASPH series offers a focal length of 50-200mm with integrated O. I. S. image stabilization. This means that there are now 10 MFT-Leica lenses that cover the high-end segment at Panasonic.
All lenses of the new F2,8-4,0 series have 9 lamellas for a practically circular aperture and a nano-surface coating to suppress reflexes and ghost images. They are also characterised by a robust, dust and splash-proof construction and are frost-proof to minus 10 degrees Celsius.

The 50-200mm works together with the Dual I. S. image stabilization system of current Panasonic LUMIX G cameras and is designed to protect against blurred images even when filming from the palm of your hand. Furthermore, it is compatible with the high-speed precision contrast AF system of the current LUMIX cameras and enables data exchange with a maximum of 240 frames/second. This is to be noticeable in a particularly even focusing movement.
In addition to low-noise operation, which is made possible by internal focusing, the finely graduated aperture drive system supports uniform exposure control in the event of brightness changes during zooming or panning. In addition, the safety of the AF tracking function for zooming should also be improved thanks to high-speed single image analysis for focus control.
