Eighteen months ago, Panavision announced its ![]()
The Monstro sensor is 40.96mm wide and 21.6 mm high. It accommodates more than 35 million 5 µm sensors on this area at a RAW resolution of 8192 x 4320 sensors. It thus supports image circles up to 46.31 (in sensor format of approx. 21:11 format). In 8K Full Frame (8192 x 4320) the camera can record up to 60 fps, 75 fps are possible in 8K 2.4:1 (8192 x 3456). 8K RAW can be recorded simultaneously with a 4K proxy (ProRes or DNx). The storage media (DXL2 magazines) are proprietary and obviously available with 1TB. According to Panavision, such a DXL2 SSD magazine can record up to 60 minutes of 16bit REDCode RAW in 8K. Or up to 5 hours of ProRes HQ 2K (at 24pfs). A huge document with data rates and formats can be found at panalab.panavision.com/sites/default/files/docs/documentLibrary/DXL%20Quick%20Guide%20V_5_35_5.pdf?(here). ![]() The modular expandability with additional electronic modules is also interesting. In addition to various interfaces and second displays, there is a module that integrates a wireless focus motor control directly into the camera. Prices have not yet been announced, but as with the first DXL, it is to be expected that the DXL2 will only be available as a rental model from Panavision itself. And if you&re wondering why it seems to be raining with Blackmagic and Panavision cameras today, let&s say that the day has just begun. After all, the next big announcement in a few minutes& time is also just around the corner.... ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Panavision stellt neue Millenium DXL 2 Kamera vor |
