Not only the mount, but also the colour of the generated flares needs to be decided before purchase, whereby SIRUI offers two options here: The now almost classic blue flare is typically suitable for sci-fi, mystery and music video scenes. The neutral flare, on the other hand, does not change the colours of the highlights at all. The 40mm should be easy to use as a universal fixed focal length, whereby the lens is also recommended as an ‘always-on’ lens due to its low weight. The E-mount version should weigh around 614 grams. The manual aperture ring from T1.8 to T22 is declickable, and there is also an AF/MF switch and a freely assignable button. The advertised price of 639 US dollars does not sound overpriced at all and those who pre-order by 25.11.24 will even receive an additional 20 per cent discount. However, there is a small catch. As is so often the case with SIRUI, this introductory offer is an Indiegogo campaign, i.e. there is a certain risk that this product will never be released - and the money will simply be gone.
