Sabrent has released the new Thunderbolt 3 16TB NVMe SSD Docking Station, which allows computers (especially notebooks, of course) to be expanded with both several features and numerous additional interfaces using just a Thunberbolt 3 cable. For example, the fixed storage of the connected computer can be increased by up to 16TB of NVMe SSD storage using the docking station&s two NVME slots.

The additional SSD storage is available in the form of two drives, which can be combined into one via software RAID, and can be accessed at speeds of up to 1,500MB/s. Unfortunately, Sabrent does not specify whether the internal NVMe SSDs are accessible and can be upgraded by the user, for example.

In addition to the two Thunderbolt 3 ports, there are two USB 3.2 (Type A), one USB 3.2 (USB-C) and one USB 3.0 (Type-A) port available. The latter can be used for charging smartphones and tablets. Furthermore, a DisplayPort 1.4 is available, which can be used to access an 8K display with up to 30 Hz, as well as a Gigabit Ethernet port, a 3.5mm audio output, a 3.5mm microphone input (both easily accessible on the front) and an SD card reader (UHS-II) with transfer speeds of up to 270 MB/s.
