The new generation of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, the S25, features a clear AI focus with a multimodal AI assistant, the new devices aim to take a first step towards an AI operating system. Video recordings with the S25 devices are now recorded in 10-bit, and a Galaxy Log profile is also available for the Ultra. It can be used in a Pro Video mode; the colors can then be adjusted via LUTs. As before, UHD 8K (7,680 x 4,320 pixels) @30fps and slow-motion recordings with up to 240fps @FHD are supported. ;) Image noise should be reduced more efficiently in low light. For this purpose, the spatio-temporal filter has been integrated into the chip architecture for the first time, which should help the ProVisual Engine to recognize movements and static objects more precisely and, consequently, make even more accurate image corrections. A new audio eraser has also been added, which should remove unwanted noises from a video directly on the device. Individual audio tracks such as speech, wind, music, natural sounds or crowd noise and background noise can be controlled or removed separately with the tool, according to Samsung. However, the actual quality of noise recognition varies depending on the audio source and the condition of the video. In photo mode, there is the possibility to simulate a shallow depth of field via the virtual aperture as part of the Expert RAW mode. New are also analog-style filters that should give photos and videos a film-like aesthetic. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite The heart of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. The chipset was developed specifically for Samsung Galaxy smartphones and should increase the processor performance of the NPU by 40%, the CPU by 37%, and the GPU by 30% compared to the last series. This makes it possible to run AI applications directly on the devices of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The chipset also supports cloud-based AI tasks such as generative editing.
