Samsung launches a new series ("Odyssey") of gamer-oriented monitors with 10-bit VA panels, which are also interesting for video editing due to their technical data (very good color space coverage and HDR).
The top model is the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 C49G95T with a 5K resolution in 32:9 format of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits (typically 420 nits), which covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space, 125% of the sRGB color space and 92% of the Adobe RGB color space.

The factory color-calibrated Odyssey G9 C49G95T meets both the DisplayHDR 1000 standard of the VESA and the HDR10+ standard with these values, so HDR is well displayed.
It also has a refresh rate of 240 Hz as well as Nvidia's G-Sync technology and AMD's FreeSync Premium Pro to support variable frame rates. Its display is rather strongly curved with 1000R. The interfaces include two DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 hub. Not a matter of course for such a large monitor: it can not only be adjusted in height by up to 12cm for better ergonomics, but can also be tilted 3° forwards and 13° backwards and turned by 15°. It will probably cost from around 1,500 euros.

The other two Odyssey G7 models are the 31.5 and 27 inch C27G75T and C32G75T in the classic 16:9 format - both are also strongly curved. These have a WQHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, display at up to 240 Hz and support the DisplayHDR600 standard, Nvidia's G-Sync technology and AMD's FreeSync Premium Pro. Both are already listed online at retailers at prices starting at around 820 euro and 670 euro, respectively.
