Sennheiser has introduced the Profile Wireless compact microphone system for filmmakers and other creative professionals, consisting of a 2.4 GHz two-channel receiver and two clip-on microphones. It is designed to be easy and flexible to use and connects to cell phones, cameras or even computers. It can be used as a clip-on microphone, handheld microphone or table microphone for sound recording.

Using adapters, the receiver connects to the desired recording device and allows the sound to be monitored via a special headphone output. If a cell phone is used to record videos, the Profile Wireless receiver is connected to the Lightning or mini-USB adapter. The system&s mini microphones automatically connect to the receiver and are simply clipped onto clothing or attached using magnetic fasteners. Thanks to a screwable 3.5 mm jack socket (TRS), other lavalier microphones can also be used with the Profile Wireless as an option.
The supplied clip-on microphones have 16 GB of memory for backup recording. If the backup recording mode is activated, the internal recording is automatically switched on as soon as the wireless signal becomes too weak. In safety channel mode, a backup is recorded at a lower volume to protect against clipping.
To use Profile Wireless as a wireless, handheld reporter microphone, a clip-on microphone is simply inserted into the multifunctional charging case and fitted with a foam windscreen. Threaded mounts for common content creation accessories such as table stands also make it possible to use it as a table microphone.
The all-in-one microphone system is housed in a multifunctional charging case, which contains the two-channel receiver (2.4 GHz) with OLED touch display and two pre-paired clip-on microphones, as well as magnetic holders for attaching the clip-on microphones to sensitive clothing and an adapter for connecting the receiver to cell phones or accessory shoe adapters. A 3.5 mm jack spiral cable for camera use, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and windscreens for the clip-on microphones are also included.
A range of up to 245 m with line of sight or up to 150 m with line of sight, taking into account body blockages, is supported.
The Profile Wireless can be pre-ordered from October 30 and is scheduled for delivery from Q4 2024. The system is available at a price of EUR 299 (RRP).
