SmallHD has just introduced the Indie 7, a professional camera monitor that complements SmallHD&s range of on-camera monitors. Its 7" touchscreen with 10-bit (8+2 FRC) IPS panel has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and covers the Rec.709 color space 100%. According to SmallHD, the 530g preview monitor is said to have very good visibility due to the relatively high brightness of 1,000 nits, which is sufficient to view content even in daylight (but too little for full sunlight), the viewing angle is specified as 160° (horizontal/vertical). SmallHD Indie 7 The Indie 7 offers two 3G-SDI ports (1 input and 1 output) and one HDMI input and output each (can also be used as a second input), and it also has a Micro-USB 2.0 port. Incoming video signals can be converted from SDI to HDMI and vice versa. The Indie 7 processes video signals via SDI or HDMI at up to UltraHD 4K 30fps. LUTs or monitor profiles can be loaded and the firmware updated via an SD card slot. The power comes from an integrated Sony L-battery (2 battery slots are available, so two batteries can be used one after the other for longer operating time), optionally V-Mount or Gold-Mount battery plates can be used. Like the other professional SmallHD preview monitors, the Indie 7 SmallHDs uses Page OS 4, which provides filmmakers with a touchscreen interface and a range of useful features such as Focus Assist, Histogram, Waveforms, Scopes, Pixel Zoom, 3D LUT Overlays and False Color. SmallHD Indie 7 Back cover More functionality through additional modules The functionality of the Indie 7 can be extended with additional modules, for example to control RED DSMC2 or the new RED Komodo camera. SmallHD&s software provides access to camera functions such as start/stop recording, FPS, shutter speed, ISO, color temperature/white balance or clip playback. The optional Teradek Bolt 4K RX Module allows wireless reception of a Bolt 4K transmitter broadcast camera image from a distance of up to 228m. SmallHD Indie 7 Price and availability The SmallHD Indie 7 camera monitor in an aluminum housing can be pre-ordered at a price of around 1,050 Euro - it is scheduled to be delivered in a few weeks. It is also available in a bundle with one of the Camera Control Kits for the RED DSMC2 or Komodo camera or with the Teradek Bolt 4K receiver. A cheaper alternative (approx. 810 Euro) to the Indie 7 is SmallHDs Focus 7, which however only has an HDMI input and a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and Cine 7, which is much brighter with 1,800 nits and has better color space coverage with 100% DCI-P3, but is also more expensive (approx. 2,000 Euro). more infos at bei smallhd.com deutsche Version dieser Seite: SmallHD Indie 7: 7" Kameramonitor mit 1.000 nits Helligkeit und SDI |
