Sony&s flagship full-frame mirrorless Alpha 1 is now almost 4 years old - time for an update: Sony will introduce the Alpha 1 II in a live event streamed on YouTube on November 19 at 14:00. However, thanks to SonyAlphaRumors, the probable technical specifications (and even the price) have already been made public. The Alpha 1 II is expected to use the same body as the A9 III, which was released about a year ago, and the same 50-megapixel sensor as the previous Alpha 1 model. Video recording will, as before, be up to 8K at 30 fps. Sony Alpha 1 II Event However, the innovations and improvements seem to be limited - the now outdated Alpha 1 will gain features that Sony has already implemented in newer Alpha cameras like the A9 III and A7R V, such as the pre-capture function, which allows images to be taken even before the actual shutter release, or a 3.2" vari-angle 4-axis display, which can be swiveled up to 180° to the side (and not just tilted). Also on board is the AI processor, which is already used in the Alpha 7R V and Alpha 9 III and enables precise object recognition through machine learning, thereby improving autofocus. Image stabilization has also been enhanced, supposedly increased from a maximum of 5.5 stops (Alpha 1) to 8 stops. It is still uncertain whether the Sony A1 II will support the latest CFexpress Type A 4.0 cards - 4.0 cards could potentially enable faster buffering in burst mode. Via SonyAlphaRumors The price of the Sony Alpha 1 II is expected to be 7,499 euros, which would make it slightly more expensive than the Sony Alpha 1, currently available for around 7,299 euros.
