With the FE 85mm F1.4 GM II, Sony presents the successor to its 85mm 1.4 portrait lens within its flagship G Master lens series. The FE 85mm 1.4 GM II features two XA (extreme aspherical) lens elements and two ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements, which are designed to effectively reduce aberrations and provide high resolution and imaging performance across the entire image. ;)
The FE 85mm F1.4 GM II is equipped with two XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors, which should allow the autofocus to work up to three times faster than its predecessor. When shooting continuously at 120 fps with the Alpha 9 III, the autofocus should keep pace without any problems and the tracking performance should also be seven times better.
