Sony has announced two new power supply solutions for its Alpha and Cinema Line cameras that are compatible with NP-FZ100 batteries: The BC-ZD1 battery charger, which charges two batteries simultaneously, and the DC-C1 DC coupler, which powers cameras directly from an external power source. Battery charger BC-ZD1The BC-ZD1 is a new quick charger for the Sony NP-FZ100 batteries. ;)
It can charge two batteries simultaneously and, according to Sony, should take approx. 155 minutes. This requires connection to a USB Power Delivery (PD)-compatible power supply with an output power of at least 30 W and a USB cable that supports USB PD (3 A) or higher currents. The key specifications of the new BC-ZD1 are as follows:- Can fast charge two NP-FZ100 batteries simultaneously when connected to a USB PD compatible AC adapter (see above). - Two NP-FZ100 batteries can be charged in max. 155 minutes (see above). - The battery charge level is displayed in five stages. - Easy to transport thanks to its compact format: approx. 84.5 x approx. 29.2 x approx. 70.0 mm (W x H x D); weight approx. 149 grams. - Safe, fast charging of two NP-FZ100 batteries simultaneously thanks to effective heat dissipation and integrated heat monitoring and control. Direct current coupler DC-C1According to Sony, the DC-C1 DC coupler ensures a stable power supply during long recordings or streaming. ;) It supplies continuous power to cameras compatible with the NP-FZ100 or NP-FW50 batteries via an external power source - for example a USB-PD-compatible AC adapter (65 W or more) and a USB-PD (5 A)-compatible USB cable. The key data for the DC-C1 is as follows:- The DC-C1 DC coupler supplies power directly to a camera body that supports the NP-FZ100 or NP-FW50 batteries via an external power source such as a USB-PD compatible AC adapter (65 W or more) - To prevent accidental disconnection of the cable, the DC-C1 is equipped with a threaded hole for locking screws. Alternatively, an anchor loop can be used to secure the cable to the USB port. - Connection of the plug-in plate to the power supply unit via a 1.6 m cable for a flexible setup when recording. - A power indicator light shows the status of the power supply. - Easy to transport thanks to its lightweight, compact design: the power supply unit measures approx. 52.0 x approx. 70.6 x approx. 32.0 mm (W x H x D).
