StarTech Thunderbolt 3 Dual 4K docking station

StarTech has released a new Thunderbolt 3 docking station for Windows and OS X. It is connected to the laptop via Thunderbolt 3 and extends it by a whole series of interfaces. Two 4K (4096 x 2160p or 3840 x 2160p @ 60Hz) or one 5K 5120 x 2880p) monitors can be connected via the DisplayPort and Thunderbolt 3 USB-C interfaces of the Dock.

Other interfaces include 6 USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1) ports (one in USB-C format); an SD card reader that supports SD 4.0 and UHS-II; a Gigabit Ethernet port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The notebook can also be supplied with up to 85W of power via USB Power Delivery 2.0.

The StarTech Thunderbolt 3 Dual 4K Docking Station (TB3DOCK2DPPU) costs about 660 Euro. Included in delivery is a Thunderbolt 3 cable, a USB-C to display port cable, a power supply and a power cable. The Dock is natively supported in macOS Sierra (10.12), macOS High Sierra (10.13) and Windows 8 and 10.
