Teradek has announced the Prism Flex, its new top-of-the-line model for streaming and point-to-point H.264/H.265 encoding/decoding of video with up to 4K HDR quality, which complements the stationary Prism Rack Unit models with a much smaller mobile solution with similar functionality. Teradek Prism Flex features HDMI and 12G SDI In and Out interfaces, is fully HDR-enabled, and can stream 4K resolution video in HEVC (H.265) and AVC (H.264) formats in 10-bit 4:2:2 - live streams can be sent to popular platforms such as Facebook Live, YouTube, Wowza, Twitch and others, as well as over the WAN with a latency of around 300ms to devices such as Apple TV, macOS and iOS devices. ;) Teradek Prism Flex Prism Flex&s features include live streaming in addition to encoding/decoding, as well as support for SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), RTMP(S) and MPEG-TS. Teradek is specifically targeting live productions with the portable Prism Flex in a compact design. The Prism Flex Encoder has an HDMI and 12G SDI input as well as a 12G SDI loop output, while the Prism Flex Decoder has an HDMI and two 12G SDI outputs, a 3.5mm headphone output and an audio output. In addition, both units still have a 3.5mm headphone and audio input plus USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, an SD card slot and a 2-pin LEMO (7 to 28 VDC up to 3 A) power input. The system can also be paired with Teradek&s Core Cloud platform, turning Prism Flex into an IP video solution that allows users to collaborate over the network and manage, archive, monitor and distribute streams to many different destinations simultaneously. Via Core Cloud, it is also possible to stream to multiple destinations simultaneously or combine multiple Internet connections (via Ethernet, Wifi 6, USB LTE modem and mobile hotspot) for reliable delivery. Likewise, streamed content can be archived in the cloud or videos can be transcoded ;) Teradek Prism Flex The Prism app for iOS and Android allows Prism Flex or Prism Rack units to be remotely managed, configured, and streaming statistics such as resolution, bit rate, and network connections monitored.
