With the Camera Cage for Blackmagic PYXIS 6K Pro Kit, Tilta presents a comprehensive cage system for the Blackmagic Pyxis, which is characterised by an integrated V-mount adapter plate, similar to the cage system that Tilta already offers for the Sony FX6.
The cage itself consists of five parts - side plate, top plate, left side arm, right side arm and bottom plate - all of which can be used and attached individually. ;) The individual cage elements feature a variety of Nato rails, threaded holes with Arri lock pin functions, cold shoe mounts and much more. An SSD carrier/insert can also be mounted on the right-hand side of the camera, which accommodates SSDs with a width of between 52-60mm and a maximum height of 12mm. ;) Tilta has also thought about vertical shots in the Pyxis cage design: the base plate has been provided with specially positioned threads to allow the base plate to be aligned with the optical centre of the lens. However, the most exciting feature for us is the power module, which provides a whole range of important outputs in addition to V-mount batteries. ;) These include: 2x D-Tap (left, right), USB-C, DC-In and 2-pin Lemo. As the power module - as with the Tilta FX6 Cage - is also screwed to the top plate, this should result in a similarly robust V-mount mount. For us, this is definitely the better solution in terms of design compared to pure V-mount adapters, which are simply clicked into the BP-U mount.
