Tokina has designed another variation of its Cinema Vista primes. Like the Vista-P series released last year, the new Vista-C lenses combine a softer vintage look with the strengths of the modern Cinema Vistas, particularly a high aperture, good sharpness in the center of the image, and suppression of focus breathing. Thanks to an image circle coverage of over 46.7mm, these Vistas can also be used with many large-format cameras. From the 35mm focal length, Alexa 65 Open Gate is also supported. ;) Tokina Cinema Vista-C lens series In terms of vintage aesthetics, the Vista-C series is characterized by subtle field curvature and a slight falloff of sharpness towards the edges of the image, while the Vista-P emphasizes spherical distortion to create a swirled bokeh effect. They also exhibit more red and blue flares instead of the greenish flares of the Cinema Vista and Vista-P series.
;) (c) Horacio Martinez To achieve the desired look, the optical design of the lenses and some of their elements were modified, as was the coating. Externally, however, the new lenses hardly differ from the existing Cinema Vistas. ;) Initially, the following nine focal lengths will be available: 18mm T1.5, 25mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 40mm T1.5, 50mm T1.5, 65mm T1.5, 85mm T1.5, 105mm T1.5, and 135mm T1.5. All Vista-C lenses have a T1.5 aperture, the same 114mm front diameter, and a nine-blade diaphragm. They are available with PL, LPL, Sony E, EF, or MFT mounts.
