Topaz Labs is one of the "commercial AI pioneers", having developed AI models for photo and video processing at a particularly early stage. Today, the company is considered one of the leaders in easy-to-use video upscaling, deinterlacing, frame interpolation/slow motion and stabilizing. Topaz Labs has also developed its own AI models for denoising or re-sharpening photos.
![]() Change of scene to AMD: At the beginning of the year, AMD introduced a programmable IP add-on for its 7040 series laptop processors with the acquired Xilinx FPGA technology. This technology, christened "Ryzen AI" technology, allows AI (ONYX) models to run at a greatly accelerated rate. You can practically think of this as a dedicated accelerator chip for AI models that does not require additional GPU power. Until now, however, AMD was only ridiculed for "Ryzen AI" because there were no apps for the AI accelerator apart from a demo for blurring a background in video conferences. But that seems to be changing now. Because Topaz Labs announced yesterday that it will support "Ryzen AI" with its video filters. This should mean that the time-consuming calculations can now be executed much faster on AMD laptops with Ryzen AI acceleration. We are already very curious about the speed increases compared to a GPU that we can expect in the future. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Topaz Labs optimiert Video-KI-Software für AMDs Ryzen AI |
