Sony has introduced two new UltraHD 4K-HDR monitors from the professional Trimaster series, the 24" PVM-X2400 and the 18.4" PVM-X1800. Both have a high luminance of 1,000 nits, 10-bit colour depth and support the ITU-R BT.2020, ITU-R BT.709, DCI-P3, S-GAMUT3 and S-GAMUT3.Cine colour spaces. Their Wide Color Gamut is the same as that of the TRIMASTER HX Master Monitor BVM-HX310.

The monitors also feature the new Black Detail High/Mid/Low function that helps to ensure accurate colour reproduction by reducing the brightness of the backlight in three steps to reproduce the correct colours and gradations in low luminance areas. Also new is the Dynamic Contrast Drive, designed for checking the balance between light and dark scenes. It dynamically changes the brightness of the backlight to match any scene or image when transferring images from the PVM-X2400/X1800 to existing Sony OLED monitors.

Further functionality includes Quad-View, User 3D LUTs as well as 4K/HD-Scopes with HDR-Scales, whereby Waveform, Vectorscope and Audio Level Meter can be displayed simultaneously. Via Quad-View individual settings of EOTF (SDR/HDR), color space, transfer matrix, color temperature, contrast, brightness, user LUT, SDI/HDMI and RGB/YCBCR can be displayed simultaneously in four areas of the monitor. The on-screen display (OSD) has been extensively modified to make operation faster and more intuitive.
