DJI&s latest firmware update 01.00.0511 for its DJI Mavic Air 2 drone brings small improvements to the hyperlapse recording mode as well as the return-to-home feature.
DJI Mavic Air 2.
The auto-return function has been optimized so that if the Mavic Air 2 is within 5-50 meters of the designated landing point when the RTH function is activated, it will change its orientation and approach it at its current altitude (not the pre-determined RTH altitude) to land.
A new feature is a cruise control/tempomat in "Free" mode while recording hyperlapse videos. This allows the drone to fly forward autonomously while the user controls the camera and the drone&s movement. However, this requires version number 1.2.2 of the Fly app, which is already downloadable for iOS via App Store, but for Android only via direct download and not via Google Play for now.
As always, the 180 MB update of the DJI Mavic Air 2 firmware is done with the help of DJI Fly App (iOS/Android).
