Updates for Sony Alpha 1 II, Alpha 1 and Alpha 9 III available

Sony has released firmware updates for its Alpha 1 II (Ver. 2.00), Alpha 1 (Ver. 3.00), and Alpha 9 III (Ver. 3.00) mirrorless cameras. In the video area, the a1 II and a9 III are said to have improved image quality when using custom LUTs, while the a1 gains the ability to automatically output still images from video footage when shot marks are added during recording – a feature already available on other Alpha cameras.

With the new firmware updates, the Alpha 1 II, Alpha 1, and Alpha 9 III cameras will also be compatible with Sony&s enhanced

Camera Authenticity Solution. According to Sony, the current enhancements include the introduction of a website for image verification and a digital signature upgrade license for selected news agencies and their photographers. The service aims to provide additional information on image authenticity and simplify workflows for professionals who need to meet higher content verification standards. This should facilitate the implementation of the C2PA standard (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity), particularly in the news industry.
