VEGAS Movie Studio, the entry-level editing program VEGAS Movie Studio based on VEGAS Pro, is now available in a new version -- as always, many new features are reserved for the Platinum version, such as the picture-in-picture and the Crop OFX plug-in (split-screen effect), as well as the new Instant Freeze frame function.
However, hardware acceleration has been improved everywhere; Nvidia and Intel´s Quick Sync Video is supported. The user interface has been redesigned and offers, among other things, a new import area; however, a freely arranged window design is only possible in VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum.
A new "Event Healing" feature combines two events that use the same source material to create a cleaner timeline. Videos from more smartphone cameras can be edited, HEVC / H. 265 support material offers only Platinum.
VEGAS Movie Studio 15 includes the Platinum feature set as well as additional tools like iZotope RX Elements for sound editing and the effects packages HitFilm Boost Pack and Boris Continuum Film Style Unit.
The prices are as follows: VEGAS Movie Studio 15 costs 39.99 Euro, VEGAS Movie Studio 15 Platinum is available for 69.99 Euro, the suite costs 119.99 Euro.
