Go Pro recently released a beta version of an exciting (and free) plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. The GoPro FX Reframe plugin allows you to animate an image section with keyframes from recordings of the GoPro HERO, MAX or Fusion. According to GoPro developer David Newman, this tool has been used for GoPro presentation videos for quite some time.
After defining an output format such as FullHD 16:9, the GoPro clips can be "driven off" with a virtual camera and animated easily with the usual keyframes in the Adobe applications. In detail, pan, tilt, rotate, lens curve and zoom can be set and animated.
A very detailed (>20Min) video about the operation of the plugin can be found here:
Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects will be supported for Mac and PC versions starting in 2018, as long as an OpenGL-compatible graphics processor is installed in the system. And beware: The brand new Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 on the Mac is currently not supported.
